How might we encourage Gen Z and younger millennials to take Covid-19 seriously?
We worked with the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management in early pandemic to create communications that inspire collective adherence to Covid protocols amongst young people in the Bay area.
We co-created with a council of youth and tested weekly, live on social media, in a highly iterative, dynamic sprint, with SF DEM, the entity delivering pertinent information about Covid-19 to the SF Bay area. We learned a lot about Gen Zās communication preferences (quickly), and also learned: they just wanted to know the rules.
And since we were all in our homes, we sent real-life pamphlets to students and gave them merch and chalk stencils to help them make the campaign their own.
